Very good organisation, great participation locally and Internationally. Limassol is the ideal place to run a Marathon in March.
Personally it was the first Marathon I have attended due to studying abroad the previous years; Nonetheless, I am delighted that I had the opportunity to be a member of the volunteers and of course with the positive outcome of Cyprus's premier sporting event.
The Limassol Marathon GSO was my first marathon and it was a great experience.
I like to see the world by running. A year ago, I took part in the Logicom Cyprus Marathon in Paphos. I really liked the island, and for that cheap flights and warm climate (in Poland this period is cooler) meant that I came back, but in a different region. I heard about Limassol Marathon.
It was my first winning on "flat" marathon distance but as I said I'm rather a mountain runner.
Training for a marathon is not a difficult process and through my books and helping athletes over the years the key is to build over time and adhere to a strategy of gradual progression.
My experience during the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO GSO 2015 was exceptional! The event was very good organized; there were many people participating and the race route was excellent.
The whole team has actually great memories from the whole event. First of all, we were really impressed by the amazing hospitality provided by all of you, the festive atmosphere that prevailed during the Marathon days, all your events, and everything really!

The Limassol Marathon is the largest and most prestigious sport event I have attended in Cyprus so far. The race was well organized and was set in a beautiful scenery, along the Limassol seafront.
I was in charge of about 15 volunteers, with whom we were assigned, to provide, at the finish line, to the athletes, isotonic beverages /drinks, water, heat reflecting emergency blankets, including the conferment of the medals, rewarding them for their effort.
The first time I run with my team was on 2015, for the PrimeTel 5km Corporate Race. It was a tremendous experience, since everybody were participating, either people who have the exercise as a part of their life, or people who only train occasionally – or less.
The main reason I am doing the marathon is to raise money for my scout group, the 53rd St Βarnabas scout group, which can be done by going to this link and every year for the past 3 years the scout leader has run the full marathon to raise money for the group in order to give our kids the best scouting experience possible.
...it makes me feel very proud to see what the race has become today and to have played a (small) part in the marketing of our hometown marathon over the last few years.
I have participated in OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO in 2013, and rank 3rd overall with 2:41:29 (which is my record until now).Official Marathons/Ultras: More than 20. During workouts: More than 50
It was a beautiful sports event, a vision for a common cause not only for the Limassol citizens but for all Cypriots in general.
