Last January, the OPAP Limassol Marathon and the Ministry of Education & amp; Of Culture organized the Pancyprian school road race "I run for my Health". Today the race, in which 1,500 students of high schools, lyceums and technical schools took part, is Success Story which will be hosted in the World Health Organization Edition on Education in Europe .
The edition entitled" Thematic Paper »will be released next September. The race "I run for my health" is included in the section of actions of the member states of the European Union regarding the promotion of physical activity for the health of citizens. Last year the race was held on the coastal front of Limassol, at the same place where the start and finish of the OPAP Limassol Marathon. About 1,500 students competed as marathon runners, picking up commemorative medals and t-shirts while carrying a personal number and an electronic time-recording sensor.
Students and high school students ran at 1,500m, while high school and technical school students competed in the 3,000m.
