Limassol Marathon: the perfect winter training goal

For anyone in the UK getting set for a winter of training, there is no better incentive than this fantastic weekend celebration of running whose joyful motto is ‘Run with a Smile’. All those training through the cold, dark days of winter can take comfort in the fact that, come spring, their hard work will be worth it. And what a reward OPAP Limassol Marathon is, with its spectacular coastal route, flat and fast course, magnificent views over the sparkling Mediterranean, beautiful spring climate and friendly welcome. As running goals go, it doesn’t get much better than this.

The timing is also perfect to sign up to #RunLimassol, with race weekend just over three months away. This is the ideal amount of time to put a training plan in place and get race fit, with many 12-week training plans available for a variety of race distances. At OPAP Limassol Marathon runners can choose their preferred race distance, from the AIMS-accredited Limassol Marathon through to Limassol Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race and the 5K City Race. The choice of races makes the event a complete sporting experience, perfect for groups of friends, families and running clubs of mixed abilities.

After welcoming the biggest contingent yet of British runners at the 2018 event, the race organisers have put in place some excellent packages offering a great value, hassle-free experience for overseas visitors. The popular #RunLimassolPlus package includes a 40% discount on race entry, official race technical t-shirt, the lowest accommodation rates for race weekend, pasta party pass, finisher’s photo, race pack delivery to the hotel and transportation to the start line.

Not only is OPAP Limassol Marathon a great motivational goal to have in the diary, signing up now allows runners to secure the best prices for flights and accommodation next spring.
