OPAP Limassol Marathon 2020 partners GivenGain

The organisers of OPAP Limassol Marathon 2020 have confirmed that the event will once more be partnering global fundraising platform GivenGain to help participants raise more funds for their chosen causes.

The GivenGain partnership will improve the experience for everyone and make it easy for an event such as OPAP Limassol Marathon to connect with charities and fundraisers for a lasting social impact. Participants will benefit from a seamless process to become fundraisers at the time of signing up, while charities will gain the tools they need to build sustainable funding models and win support for their causes.

The GivenGain technology also gives OPAP Limassol Marathon an aggregated view of all money raised for charity through the event, enabling them to showcase their top fundraisers and track their donor countries.

The 2019 OPAP Limassol Marathon was the first year that the event had collaborated with a GivenGain and it proved to be highly successful, with a total of €34,262 raised overall. The platform shows that €32,569 was raised by 28 participants in the OPAP Limassol Marathon event and €1,693 was raised by five corporate fundraising teams in the PrimeTel 5K Corporate race.

The impressive amounts raised prove that OPAP Limassol Marathon is an ideal event for those wishing to run and raise money for a cause close to their hearts. It is hoped that many participants in the 2020 event will put their running efforts towards making a difference to others –and with 15,000 runners across all races, the potential is certainly huge.

In addition to the positive impact of fundraising, running for charity is excellent motivation for runners during training and on race day, offering added incentive when the going gets tough and satisfaction in achieving something meaningful.

Established in 2001, GivenGain has worked with events on five continents, and fundraisers and donors in 193 countries, to support charities and non-profit organisations in over 60 countries. GivenGain is itself a non-profit organisation whose mission is to enable global philanthropy and help race organisers to give their event more meaning. The platform takes the admin out of event-based fundraising, allowing fundraisers to easily take charge of their online fundraising.
