OPAP LIMASSOL MARATHON BROKE EVERY RECORD OF PARTICIPATION!

THE LARGEST SPORTS EVENT IN CYPRUS COUNTS 13,000 ROUTES - POLISH WINNERS IN MEN AND WOMEN CATEGORIES & nbsp;

10 Limassol has broken every participation record! The President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis gave the starting shot for the 13000 runners. More than fifty countries were represented by their runners in the OPAP Limassol Marathon, while the present was given by people aged 6 to over 80 years. Special mention should be made of the athletes with disabilities who proudly participated and completed the race of their choice. & Nbsp;

In his opening speech, Mr. Anastasiadis stressed the social contribution of the OPAP Limassol Marathon , which aimed to support and promote the activities of the Karaiskaki Foundation. He also praised the volunteers for their help and pointed out the unprecedented mass participation, as well as the large exhibition in Cyprus due to the participation of foreign runners. & Nbsp;
The winner of the Marathon was Tomasz Klisz from Poland, the who covered the distance of 42,195 meters in 2 hours, 41 minutes and 49 seconds. Pavel Borodin from Dro.Me.A. Racing took 2nd place and Michael Keenan from 3rd. Last year, Michael Keenan was awarded 2nd place. For the Women's category, Sylwia Bondara from Poland took first place with a time of 3:12:40, with Cypriots Dagmara Handzlik and Ioulia Andreou taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. & Nbsp;
O Tomasz Klisz says: I am very happy after winning my birthday, and I set a personal record, just in the second marathon I attended. I will definitely be here for next year. "& Nbsp;

In the Half Marathon, the Russian Igor Sysoev from Cycleon took the 1st place with a time of 1: 15:03. The second place was taken by the Greek Tassos Tseronis from APOEL and the Cypriot Fernando Ramon Avelaneda on the 3rd. In the women, Yarden Harlev from Israel took the 1st place with a time of 1:34:37. Louise Parr from the United Kingdom and RAF took 2nd place and Katia Ronchini from Italy took 3rd. & Nbsp;
The other OPAP Limassol Marathon races were Petrolina 10km Energy Race, The 5km City Race and PrimeTel 5 km Corporate Race. More than 200 companies and 8000 runners participated in the latter. The winning team was Sanctum Spa & amp; Fitness In Limassol Marina, which was represented by 120 people. The largest team in the Corporate Race was PrimeTel. 1500 children also participated in the children's race McDonald's 1km. & Nbsp;
