Mission to Seafarers

The Mission to Seafarers is a UK-based charity that operates internationally to provide help and support to Sea Farers around the globe. It has grown to become one of the largest port-based welfare operators in the world, providing a service in some 200 ports, 365 days a year, across 50 countries. The charity will be cooperating with the OPAP Limassol Marathon in order to raise valuable funds, with a specific focus on the work of The Mission in Cyprus.
The cause is expected to be of particular interest to local runners who work in Cypriot-based shipping companies, as well as to international runners wishing to back the vital work it does in providing practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers. Piracy, shipwreck, abandonment and separation from loved ones are just some of the problems faced by merchant seafarers in keeping our global economy afloat, making The Mission to Seafarers relevant to a great many of us.
