
He noted that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, through the

In their announcement, the organisers of the XM Limassol
Marathon said that, within the framework of the strategy to promote Cyprus as a
leading sports tourism destination, the Deputy Ministry is participating as a
Platinum sponsor in this year’s event.
They added that the aim is to establish the Marathon as an
institution that goes beyond the racing part and constitutes a complete tourist
experience under the Cypriot sun.
In this regard, the announcement said that the collaboration
focuses on promoting the unique identity of Cyprus, combining the exceptional
natural environment with the hospitality and infrastructure for world-class
races.
It also added that the Love Cyprus brand is the signature
under every effort to emphasise the beauty and culture of Cyprus, finding in
the XM Limassol Marathon the ideal ambassador to transmit the vitality of the
island to thousands of visitors from abroad.
Koumis stated that “the XM Limassol Marathon constitutes one
of the most important pillars of sports tourism in the country.”
He added that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, through the

It is further stated that, through this sponsorship, the
Deputy Ministry is enhancing the international visibility of the event,
focusing on the experience of the coastal route, the energy of the thousands of
runners and the atmosphere of the Limassol Molos.
With regard to the two-day racing programme, it is noted
that it begins on Saturday, March 21, with the start of the Primetel Corporate
5km race, in which hundreds of teams will run along the coastal road, while the
little runners will then take over for the McDonald’s Kids Race 1km.
The programme continues on Sunday, March 22, with a series
of demanding routes. It begins early in the morning with the XM Limassol
Marathon 42km, followed by the Muskita Half Marathon 21km and the Petrolina
10km Energy Road.
The event concludes with the Axlebolt 5km Individual Road.
